About us
Emily&Charlotte is a small, family-run women's clothing boutique. It started in 1991 in a single room in London: two sisters, one sewing machine inherited from their mother, and one rule for everything that went on the rail: would we wear it ourselves?
Thirty-five years later that rule has not changed. We choose every piece by hand, we try it on, and if it does not feel right on a real body it does not go on sale. No trend for the sake of it. No fabric that scratches. No size chart that stops at a 12.
What we sell
Jackets, blazers and coats with a bit of personality. Cardigans and jumpers you will live in from October to March. Dresses for the school run and for the wedding. Comfortable shoes that still look like shoes. Everything comes in sizes from a UK 8 to a UK 24, because our customers do.
Who you are talking to
We are still the same family. Emily and Charlotte still pick the collection. Olivia, Emily's daughter, packs your order and answers your emails, seven days a week. If you have a question about a size, a fabric or a delivery, you will get a person, not a ticket number.

Why everything is on sale
Earlier this year we lost the lease on our London shop after thirty-five years. Rather than move somewhere that was not ours, we decided to close the door and sell the whole archive online, at up to 70% off, until the rails are empty. When a size is gone, it is gone.
